Getting ready for this month's #classicalbumtweets. As always, feel free to listen along and chime in. pic.twitter.com/tANKgib6Mm

Pushing play now on Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. #classicalbumtweets
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"Second Hand News" just begs to be listened to in the sun while cracking open cold ones. #classicalbumtweets
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
I'm not afraid to admit that I was first familiar with "Second Hand News" through Kid Rock's "Wasting Time." Had a strange aversion to Mac.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Also, just assume that every song, my reaction is going to be "OMG, Lindsey Buckingham's guitar y'all." His picking is blissfully insane.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
I can hear the LA lifestyle all through the production of "Dreams." Such laidback sex appeal in the rhythm section. #classicalbumtweets
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Okay, back to my aversion towards Fleetwood Mac: I just thought they were supposed to be corny as a kid. Didn't get a sense of danger.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Still not a whole lot of danger, but plenty of daring as I soon found out. Plenty of great tunes as I came to learn. #classicalbumtweets
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"Never Going Back Again" might be might favorite track because it's essentially Buckingham going all out on guitar.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
I know I've heard Rumours plenty of times before, but I'm already feeling better. "Don't Stop" just hit & it's easy to see why it sold tons.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
As a human being, I feel kind of bad reveling in the fact the couples in the band separating resulted in such good music. But...
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
If they had never broken up, the album would have been nowhere as good. What I would give to see the sessions for "Go Your Own Way."
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Rumours is one of the purest karaoke albums there is. You can't call yourself an establishment w/o having half the album in your library.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"Songbird" is placed so perfectly. There's nothing but hit after hit on Rumours and you need that buffer before after first half.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"The Chain" feels the closest to what eventually came on Tusk. It's still epic, but doesn't go over the edge. Tusk was a weird follow-up.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"Oh, did you guys forget we were amazing musicians? Don't let these hits fool you." -Fleetwood Mac's statement w/ "The Chain"
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
I'm going to make a list of the best cocaine albums of all-time. Rumours has to at least be top five. I'm including Hotel California too.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
You can't tell me Fleetwood Mac would be opposed to you doing coke while listening to Rumours. I won't hear it. pic.twitter.com/Hl7zV9hfq5
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"I Don't Want To Know" definitely has the cheeriest feel to it musically. None of these songs sound down aside from their content.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"I don't want to know the reasons why/Love keeps right on walking down the line" *continues dancing and smiling like an idiot*
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"Oh Daddy" is the other moment where chops get to shine a bit. Earlier Fleetwood Mac was so much more focused on musicianship.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
I feel ashamed that I haven't listened to Rumours on headphones ever. The production is so pure and pristine without distracting.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Shhh. "Gold Dust Woman." #classicalbumtweets
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Imagine my shock the first time hearing Rumours and going "Whoa, that's Hole!" Finding out Hole covered "Gold Dust Woman" = classic status.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Okay, now that I think about it, "Gold Dust Woman" is also a bit Tusk-y as well. Matter of fact, Tusk would rank higher on coke album list.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
"Take your silver spoon/and dig your grave." Can I be forgiven for thinking Courtney Love originally did those lyrics? #classicalbumtweets
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
And that concludes another session of #classicalbumtweets. So fun to do Rumours. It was basically Usher's Confessions of its time.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Confessions was probably the biggest album since Rumours where a superstar act brazenly sang about publicized turmoil.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
Context behind Rumours doesn't matter as much to someone born after '70s. It's important for the music to stand on its own, which it did.
— Ivan Mitchell (@hecticivan) May 15, 2014
